Left
The Left sees that the public sector, funded by progressive taxation, can solve many problems more directly and effectively, while enhancing overall equality of the citizenry. Fairness of the private system is critical to motivation, security and overall prosperity. The Left encourages freedom of personal expression and behavior, but is more regulatory of markets and finance.
Liberty
Liberty advocates see that the private sector with a strong legal system aimed primarily at ensuring the rights of Life, Liberty, and Property (sometimes expressed as Happiness or Prosperity), funded by satisfied customers, can solve many problems by expecting personal responsibility, encouraging innovation, and demanding high levels of competence and motivation at work. Liberty advocates encourage freedom of markets, finance, personal, and social behavior, and see regulation as only valuable in ensuring the rights to all equality under the law.
Right
The Right sees that the private sector, funded by satisfied customers, can solve many problems by expecting personal responsibility, encouraging innovation, and demanding high levels of competence and motivation at work. The Right encourages freedom of markets and finance, but is more regulatory of personal and social behavior.

Self Governance is Shared Governance
Regardless of what weight each of us place on the three ideologies described above, we must acknowledge that we are each sharing in the power it requires to form and sustain a government. To remain a liberal (free) democracy, a government by, for, and of the people, we must respect the wishes of others. We must also respect the freedom of others.
We must also be truthful with ourselves and our fellow citizens. People who earnestly wish for positive outcomes will not always produce them. People who leave all issues open to the free desires of the private individual or organization will not ensure freedom for all, and probably not equality under the law either.
Shared Governance is a partnership. Partnering is full of compromises, but when people work at it and care sincerely for each other, it is also empowering. This site seeks to find the healthy dynamic for society under Shared Self Governance.
